Stephen Mલller started this year with an ambitious target: Germany's largest Tesla Inc., adding 100 Model 3s to its fleet to its car-rental company Nextmov. Creating a Customer He compares the arrival of electric cars on the shores of Europe with a tsunami wash in a region that is slow to accept battery-powered autos.
But the expected powerful wave molar has collapsed on a trick. Weeks later, and the initial 15 sedans that Tesla delivered on imperfect repairs and quality issues – ranging from scratched bumpers to moisture trapped behind the headlights – the order of the remaining 85 Model D3s was called. Tesla also tried to deliver cars that were previously registered, which would lock Nextmov out of Germany's electric-car incentive program and possible tax refunds.
“The Model 3 is a fantastic car. "Some of our customers absolutely fell in love with it," said Mueller, whose Leipzig-based fleet owns more than Model૦૦ electric vehicles, including the Model 38 Model D S and a dozen Model X's. "But the organization behind it is unmatched. It's really healthy."
The subpar service can be a barrier to making more impact in Tesla Germany, where car owners care about their BMWs and Mercedes just as much as they care about the speed of their ting Tobahan. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk, best known for Twitter critics, acknowledged earlier this year that the lack of service centers in Germany was hampering the company's growth.
Tesla believes NextMov's decision to cancel its pending Model 3 order is not solely due to quality issues, and according to a spokeswoman, most were frustrated by the unrelated dispute earlier this year. The car maker was about to make repairs and provided loaner vehicles to the customer at the time of order cancellation.
A Tesla spokeswoman condemned the registration issue, which NextMov described as a temporary issue with a matching identification number on the vehicle, and said the issue had been resolved for the affected customers.
Poor service is one of the issues Tesla is already surrounded by in Norway, Europe's largest electric-car market. According to the country's consumer watchdog, painted vehicles with auto nuts and ted towels have given rise to the highest level of complaints per unit among all automakers.
In Europe, more established players are racing against Tesla time, awakening to an electric future. The continent estimates that in the next decade it will be the world's second largest electric car driver, leaving only China behind. Customers can already increase the number of battery operated models with choices like Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and udi D.
Mueller said that after demanding an improved process for handover and fixes, the remainder of NextMov's Model 3 order has been canceled. And he says Carmaker's issues go beyond Model 3.
He spent two years waiting for the carmaker to replace the seat in the Model X, which was delivered in July 2017, which will have a hole in it. A Model 3 recently arrived with a bulge spread on a tire. Moeller shared email correspondence with Tesla with Bloomberg News and photos of the convicted vehicle.
A Tesla spokesman said the company's data does not indicate unusual vehicle quality problems for Germany or anywhere else in the world. The company said that there is little potential for the car to be transported by the customers and it resolves those problems quickly.
Nextmove is not a different case. The German social-media platform and the ForNline platform are consumers complaining about defective parts, from sensors to suspension. Many people describe Tesla's sales organization in the country as not responsible.
"I'm still thrilled with the car, because it's so much better than anything I've driven before, but the quality of the service and some of the technical parts are seriously worrisome," said Raven Wall, who said by email that she ordered it in February. Model 3 and less than a month ready for delivery.
Volk made the Odyssey incident with Tesla, starting with a car that couldn't be handled due to a faulty main display. The company opted to get another Model 3 from its European pool and set a new handover date a month later. After that, there were stains on the exterior and inside of the car and there was a cable strap from where there should be light for the rear seats. The charging cable and the winter tire he ordered were nowhere to be found.
A Tesla spokesman said unhappy customers can return their car for a full refund up to seven days after purchase. Company data shows that German customers are greatly satisfied with their vehicles, including the quality and condition of the car on delivery.
"Generally, early adopters forgive many things for unconventional newcomers like Tesla," said Stefan Breitzel, a researcher at Center Automotive Automotive Management near Cologne. "But the more Tesla enters the wider customer segment, the more distribution and service work will have to be done."
According to industry watchdog data, the sale of Tesla's most affordable Model 3 helps the brand grow faster in Germany. KBAGeneral Chat Chat Lounge While 6,816 entries are still better than market leaders, Tesla outsold brands including Jaguar and Alpha Romeo.
Tesla is set to double the number of service centers in Germany, with 17 companies focusing on urban areas, including Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, according to the company's website. The car maker is also branching out to mid-sized cities such as Kiel, Ulm and Mannheim, and lists 16 retail stores in the country.
The presence of brick and mortar is still far from the extended infrastructure that Carmakers has built in Germany for decades. Volkswagen AG, the country's top-selling auto toe maker, has hundreds of dedicated sales and repair outlets.
Then again, Musk is relying on a shift toward electric cars and digital services will improve the retail and after-sales business. Battery powered ered toes have fewer components that are at risk of being broken. Tesla also plans to increase its fleet of mobile service vehicles in Europe by 50% this year and to increase mobile service coverage by five times, the spokesman said.
For the walk, after about 100 days and 15,000 kilometers, the rust between the front fender of the Model 3 and the driver's door began to appear, which was attributed to the friction of the sheet metal that had not been properly opted. Volk said hiring Tesla service employees is challenging because some employees familiar with his case have left the company.
Malt Ahl said in an email that Tesla withdrew his purchase agreement for his Model 3 in March after not responding to his concerns about glitch including poor paint quality, scratches on the passenger seat and inactive switches.
"I find this way of dealing with the most loyal with Tesla fans inappropriate and unsustainable," he wrote in an attached letter to the company's German unit.
