Fatal head-on collision in North Vancouver sets vehicle on fire, snarls traffic for hours – BC



A horrific head-on collision between a westbound pickup truck and an eastbound passenger vehicle on Highway One in North Vancouver on Saturday night snarled local traffic for hours.

It happened around 7 pm between the Lynn Valley Road and Mountain Highway exits.

The passenger vehicle – a Modo Car Share rental car – caught fire, and many motorists tried to assist with the residents. One of those people

A third vehicle was also involved in the multi-vehicle crash.

No specific word yet from RCMP on any other possible injuries to other drivers or passengers involved, or what led to the crash

RCMP closed Highway One in both directions from Lynn Valley Road to Mountain Highway in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The highway has since been re-opened as of approximately 1:30 Sunday morning.

The collision occurred in an area where there are temporarily no concrete center dividers, due to construction on the new overpass.
