Kota Kanabul, Malaysia, 25 November (Saheehuhua) – About 2,000 people have joined the race for friendship on Sunday to promote bilateral relations between Malaysians and China and to promote more ties between the two people.
The event was held in the capital of Sabah Capital of Malaysia in northern Borneo, from which beautiful beaches, tropical rain forests, mountain ranges and cultural diversity are attracting tourists from China.
Oba E. Sun, Chairman of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association of Sabah, who organized this event, said that large participation showed local government and people were keen to take more ties with China and participate in belt and road initiatives.
"We hope that such healthy and positive events will help participants gain a deeper understanding of the friendship between China and Malaysia, especially with Sabah."
Chinese Consul-General Liang Kide in Kota Kinabalu said that this event is a meaningful way to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.
