Here are seven different industries that the NHO believes in for Norway's future

Oil revenues will decline, we must adapt to climate challenges, and more jobs we have today will disappear. Therefore, the NHO is preparing a pping on what opportunities exist in Norway and what are the benefits that can make us better than other countries.

Businesses are part of climate solutions

Today, Norway provides parts of the value chains, but most of the value creation goes beyond our borders. We export unusual salmon overseas instead of contributing many links to the value chain.

So the NHO and Syntef are looking to make us more involved from the beginning of the new chain to the final product.

In a recent report, Sintef believes that Norway has good opportunities to do well.

A sea of ​​opportunities

1. Health technology:

2. Sustainable food from the sea

Syntheff writes that the cultivation of seaweed and kelp represents an opportunity to create great value. This is what the NHO wants Norway to do. Seaweed and clippings can be used to feed both humans and animals. It can also bind to CO₂, which will have a positive impact on our emissions.

We can also use seaweed and kelp to get sea leave. By biofineries, these plants can be converted into gas, which in turn can be used to make bioplastics.

Overall, the Nordic countries have good access to all the materials needed for battery production. This also includes the multi-quoted mineral cobalt.

According to Syntef estimates, the battery has added value today, with 800 jobs with 100 jobs. But they estimate that if possible, the number of value creation in 2030 could be 10 billion and 700 jobs.

But starting mining in Norway is not always so popular. Landfill waste is often the subject of much debate. Reportedly, we could use more instead of storing additional masses. It can be used to make ceramic products and glass, among other things, as a plant nutrition.

Emission-free and driverless vessels are an industry with great opportunities, according to Syntef. We will need more of the transport while at the same time imposing stringent requirements for emissions. This is something that Norway can exploit. But to be successful, we must strengthen the competency to be able to deliver both technology and services in the future market.

They also believe that there are many opportunities for new ways of transporting goods. In large cities, the opportunities for transportation are diminished and so we must find a more environmentally friendly way of transporting goods.

5. Raw Material Recovery Procurement:

In Norway, phosphorus pollution in soil is very high in some places because raw materials are used in fertilizers. This is what the NHO and Syntef believe we can use better. Phosphorus is on the EU's list of crucial ingredients, which is why they believe phosphorus recycling has great potential. Both can receive a lot in direct payment of recycled phosphorus, but also for the technology that makes it possible to recover.

6. Infrastructure and Social Security:

Here, the report mentions that we should look at the overtater as a tool. If we do nothing to improve water management, the damage caused by climate change in Norway is likely to be between 40 and 100 billion over the next 40 years. Therefore, we must create better infrastructure for removing and storing water, ”says Sinteff.
