PC review | Scientists have developed solar power to store solar energy for 18 years

The proportion of solar energy sources is still present, but there is still a problem in long term storage.

But now scientists from Charles University of Technology have found a new solution. They have developed a special fluid called the solar thermal fuel. This can save the solar power for more than ten years.

"Solar thermal fuel is like a rechargeable battery. Electricity instead of electricity demanded it, heated it if necessary,MIT's Jeffrey Grossman explains In an interview for NBC News.

It is a molecule consisting of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen. When applying sunlight to that, something unusual happens: the restructuring of atoms and creating a new version called issue.

The solar energy between the molecules of the molecules increases, and the resulting molecules cool the energy into the cold. When energy is needed, for example in the night or winter, the liquid is filtered through a catalyst, molecular isolated to the original form and heated in hot form.

"The energy can be stored in this isomer for up to 18 years,"Says one of the scientists at Kasper Moth-Poulsen of Chalmers University."If we get and use it, we get more heat than hot."

Scientists have tried new fluid fuel in a prototype power system installed at the university's roof and attracted many investors attention. Without substantial damage to the molecule, they repeated this cycle more than 125 times.

Researchers say their kilograms of liquid can now be stored in 250 watt energy and Tesla powerwal batteries twice a year. They believe, but because of design optimization they can get more heat from this system soon.

Moth-Polesen thinks that if everything goes according to plan, technology can be made available for technology use within ten years.

The study was conducted in the journal Energy and ecology.
